In today’s episode of The Plant Trainers Podcast we talk to a forefather of plant-based nutrition, Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn. During our talk we ask all the questions you, your family and friends may have about the role plant-based nutrition may have on your health and heart health in particular. Whether it’s moderation, eggs, oils for brain function or osteoporosis, Dr. Esselstyn is firm on his stances and knows the research well.
Caldwell B. Esselstyn, Jr., M.D. is the author of the book Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease. He is widely recognized for his role in the documentary film, Forks Over Knives. Twenty-four years ago, while chairman of the Cleveland Clinic’s Breast Cancer Task Force, Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn was looking for a way to have his colleagues and himself do more in the way of preventing heart disease. He found the research on plant-based diets to be extremely strong so he and his family adopted a plant-based lifestyle. His family and patients all have a better life because of this. He lives in the Cleveland area with his feisty wife, Ann.
In this episode we discuss:
- Coronary heart disease

I’m interested in plant based nutrition. My husband had a heart attack last month. We are changing our habits now!
Hi Becky,
Sorry you had to go through that experience and sounds like your husband is ok. Glad you’re changing those habits! Stay strong and let us know if you need any help!
