In this episode of The Plant Trainers Podcast we talk to Jason Wrobel, or J-Wro, who dishes up a sublime fusion of food and humor to help you live to 100. After graduating from the Living Light Culinary Institute and earning certification as Certified Raw Food Chef and Instructor, Jason went on to apprentice with the industry’s finest and most revered talents in New York City, Detroit and Los Angeles.
He was the executive Raw Food Chef at the award-winning Café La Vie in Santa Cruz, California. Jason won the inaugural World’s Best Raw Ice Cream Competition in Los Angeles and being the first vegan chef ever to present live at the prestigious Pebble Beach Food & Wine festival. Jason hosts the popular YouTube channel The J-Wro Show showcasing healthy recipes, lifestyle transformation tips and epicurean entertainment. His Cooking Channel television series, How to Live to 100, was the first primetime vegan cooking series in TV history, which taught people worldwide how to prepare easy and nutritious plant-based foods.
Jason Wrobel is the author of Eaternity: More Than 150 Deliciously Easy Vegan Recipes for a Long, Healthy, Satisfied, Joyful Life and today we start off talking to him about the uniqueness of his book. Our intention was to talk about the culinary world, but we quickly called an audible just moments before hitting record. Jason and Shoshana have both suffered through incredible bouts of anxiety and depression. We haven’t talked about this in depth on the show since PTP006. So today Shoshana and Jason go where most people dare not go and talk about their darkest moments and how diet and lifestyle help them thrive.
It’s important that you understand that what they talk about today is their own experience and they are sharing it to help fight against stigma and help empower others. Any decisions to make changes to your medication or other treatments should be made along side your professional practitioners and not alone.
