In today’s episode of The Plant Trainers Podcast we talk to Bad Henning, certified clinical hypnotherapist. Brad has also been practicing Judo for over 54 years so he is no stranger to hypnotherapy for sports performance. He founded the Markville Judo Club with his late father in 1990 in order to bring affordable Martial Arts to people in Markham. Brad has also been teaching self-defense and anti-rape since 1985 to over 18,000 students.
Brad first saw hypnosis on the “Michael Douglas Show” and then again on the “Kung Fu Series” and connected the two. He was originally self-taught in the art of hypnosis and as he was intrigued with hypnotic phenomena without traditional rituals. He began taking courses to become licensed in hypnotherapy to help hundreds of people with many problems like allergies, phobias, athletic performance and he even helped Shoshana with her PTSD.
You’ll notice that Adam is quiet for the first part of this episode. This is because he is actually under hypnosis and has lost the ability to comprehend or say a specific word. Listen carefully to see how dances around that specific word. We should’ve videotaped it so you could see the honest confusion on his face.
In this episode we discuss:
- Influences in hypnosis
- Adam is hypnotized
- The athletic edge
- Concentration & mental focus
- Being in “the zone”
- Ways to improve sports performance
- Controlling negative thoughts and nerves
- Anchors
- More in Part 2 Episode 103
