These orange chocolate balls are incredible. They are super easy to make and serve as an awesome dessert or pre-workout snack. Our kids help make them and really enjoy eating them. The best part of this recipe is that you can change the flavor so easily each time you make them!
Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup of raw almonds
- 1/4 cup of raw cashews
- 8-10 Medjool dates
- Juice of 1 orange or 1-2 clementines (can use lemon, lime or any other flavor you like)
- 1/4 tsp salt (optional)
- Zest of 1 orange or 1-2 clementines (can use lemon, lime or any other flavor you like)
- 1/2-1 cup of dark chocolate chips (we use Enjoy Life)
- Coconut shreds (optional)
Directions:
- Place all ingredients into a food processor
- Process until the ingredients are well combined and become a sticky clump
- Take a teaspoon amount of the mixture and form into balls
- Place the orange balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper
- This will make about 16 orange balls
- Place the baking sheet in the freezer until the orange balls harden
- Melt the chocolate chips in a glass bowl
- Once frozen, take each orange ball and dunk them into the melted chocolate (easiest when using two spoons) and then place each one back on the baking sheet
- Once back on the baking sheet and before the chocolate hardens, top with coconut shreds, sea salt, hemp hearts or any other desired topping
- Put the baking sheet back in the freezer until frozen
Enjoy!
