In this episode of The Plant Trainers Podcast, we talk all about Canada’s Food Guide. As you may know, in January (2019) Canada’s Food Guide made some pretty bold changes and statements that we are excited to share with you. And since March is nutrition month (isn’t every month nutrition month around here?) we thought this would be a great time to talk about what we liked, what we didn’t like and what’s really going on behind the scenes.
Canada’s Food Guide had not been updated in many years and the way Canadians learned about nutrition was, well, kind of, not with the times. With new updates, Canada’s Food Guide promoted a healthier lifestyle and has become much more well rounded. It takes into account not just eating more plants (this is huge), but increasing water intake as well as the importance of daily movement.
Find out our detailed perspective in this episode. And of course, it wouldn’t be The Plant Trainers Podcast without actionable tips…so we have some great swaps you can start using or share with your friends and family! We would love to see you joining the conversations on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter @planttrainers.
